If you have got a small business that you are trying to market and are having trouble, it may be because you have not first created a Web marketing plan. Internet marketing is highly complex and is much tougher than just putting some key words in the text of your website. A Web marketing plan consists of eight steps : strategic planning, situation research, buyer analysis, market and product focus, product positioning, pricing strategy, product distribution, and net promotion.

Step Number 1. Strategic Planning
When marketing your business on the internet, you need to keep several things in mind. Ask yourself the query,'what am I good at?' you need to find out how your company is not like the others by finding the advantages that you have over your competition.

Step Number two. Situation research
This is basically learning about the market that you are in. This can be accomplished though different studies like SWOT research, conducting a sector analysis, and investigating your competition. The more you learn on the industry you are in and how you can achieve success in it, the better.


Step Number 3. purchaser Research
put simply this step includes learning about your customers. How you are going to possitively market to somebody that you know zero about? You need to know their likes, dislikes, past-times, roles, household life, etc if you're going to market to them effectively . In fact, some businesses do invent personalities that function as the target client and create a plan of marketing to them.

Step Number 4. Market and Product Focus
This step involves segmenting your market and making your business unique from your competition. This is often times called the'Unique Selling Point' or'USP'.

Step Number five. Product Positioning
Simply put, when a person sees a business name, certain thoughts are evoked. When someone announces your company name, what thoughts may come to mind? This is something that you must consider. You must know the simple way to place your company in your purchaser's mind. If you have not taught about them yet, familiarise yourself with the 4 Ps of selling : product, position, promotion, and price.


Step Number six. Pricing Strategy
This is also one of the 4 Ps of selling. You must know how to accuratelly price your services or goods. A good way is to take a peak at what the competitors are charging. If you're new to the business, you'll need to undercut their costs.

Step number seven. Product Distribution
This is the 2nd P in the 4 P's of promoting, often referred to as position. This is the physical location where your service or product is offered. And yes, if you have an online enterprize then you position is the internet.

Step Number 8. Internet Promotion
This is how you are going to publicize your business on the web. There are loads of unique techniques at your finger tips including newsletters, search engines, article marketing and PPC advertising. Experiment with every one of them and try to determine what most closely fits your company.
